Bee-INSPIRED Summer Program

 

Are you an undergraduate STEM major interested in honey bees and their role in urban agriculture?  Would you like to gain cutting-edge experience in research or design and be engaged in community service projects?  Then the Bee-INSPIRED summer program is for you!  This 10-week research and service experience will be held May 21-July 28, 2017 on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Participants will:

•conduct research related to honey bees in labs on the Georgia Tech campus four days a week
•collaborate with community partners on honey bee related urban agricultural service projects one day a week 
•attend workshops on graduate school and STEM careers and research ethics
•attend scientific seminars on honey bees and related topics
•present the results of their work at an end-of-summer scientific symposium

Participants receive:

•A $5000 stipend
•A travel allowance if necessary
•Free on-campus housing at Georgia Tech

Participants must:

•Submit an application by February 15 March 1.

DEADLINE EXTENDED

•Be US citizens, nationals or permanent residents
•Be willing to work with community partners outdoors in the summer in Atlanta. (can be hot, hard work)
