Bee-INSPIRED Summer Program


Are you an undergraduate STEM major interested in honey bees and their role in urban agriculture?  Would you like to gain cutting-edge experience in research or design and be engaged in community service projects?  Then the Bee-INSPIRED summer program is for you!  This 10-week research and service experience will be held May 20-July 27, 2018 on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Participants will:

•conduct research related to honey bees in labs on the Georgia Tech campus four days a week
•collaborate with community partners on honey bee related urban agricultural service projects one day a week 
•attend workshops on graduate school and STEM careers and research ethics
•attend scientific seminars on honey bees and related topics
•present the results of their work at an end-of-summer scientific symposium

Participants receive:

•A $5000 stipend
•A travel allowance if necessary
•Free on-campus housing at Georgia Tech

Participants must:

•Submit an application by February 15  Deadline Extended to March 1
•Be US citizens, nationals or permanent residents
•Be willing to work with community partners outdoors in the summer in Atlanta. (can be hot, hard work)
